HomeCook ("we", "our", or "the app") is a meal planning application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

Account information: Your name and email address, provided directly or via Google or Facebook sign-in.
App data: Recipes you create, meal plans you schedule, shopping lists generated from your plans, and household membership.

We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, health data, financial information, or device identifiers for tracking purposes.

To create and maintain your account
To store your recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists
To enable household sharing (shared calendars and shopping lists with members you invite)
To authenticate you via Google, Facebook, or email/password

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, which uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase: Database and authentication
Google Sign-In: Optional authentication (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
Facebook Login: Optional authentication (governed by Meta's Privacy Policy)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

When you join a household via an invite code, other household members can see:

Your personal recipe bookmarks remain private and are not visible to other household members.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

You have the right to:

HomeCook is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email.
